Rock-A-Thon

Philanthropy is often forgotten among fraternities, but not in Alpha Epsilon Pi. We pride ourselves on our dedication to the community and to the principles of Tzedaka and good deeds. One of our most important goals as the premiere Jewish Fraternity is to give back to others through philanthropic endeavors and community service. Alpha Epsilon Pi men practice "Tikkun Olam," or "Repairing the World" in Hebrew, contributing not only to their local communities but the global community as well.

Our main philanthropy event is Rock-A-Thon. This is a 24-hour event where one member of our fraternity sits in a rocking chair for an entire day in order to raise money to fight childhood cancer. Throughout the day, we have live music, food, games, speakers, and more, all on the UT campus while brothers ask for donations across the city of Austin and the state of Texas. The event was created at the University of Missouri in 1969 and has since then become an AEPi tradition across the country.
